Tony de Carlo
Biography: Tony de Carlo is a native of Los Angeles, born at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in 1956. At the age of eight, his family moved from Southern California to Kaneohe, Hawaii.

The son of an artist mother, he has been creating ever since childhood.
At 29, he returned to Los Angeles in 1985, where he has remained in Echo Park.
A self-taught artist, he paints on a daily basis using silver, copper and gold-leaf, acrylics and oils on everything from canvas, metal and tin, to cut out wood figures and furniture.
His work is exhibited regularly throughout the United States and his work is in collections throughout the world.

Exhibitions: Some of Tony de Carlo’s exhibitions include Riverside Art Museum, California State University, Los Angeles; Mexican-American Cultural Art Center (Tucson, AZ); Baltimore Convention Center (FolkFest); Los Angeles Art Expo; SPARC and UCLA Caesar Chavez Center; Galeria de la Raza (San Francisco); Museum of African-American Art (The Los Angeles Festival); and Downey Museum of Art.

The artwork of Tony de Carlo is featured in the January 2001 edition of Tentaciones Magazine and in the just released book Images of Ambiente by Rudi C. Bleys.
