My dominant concern in the creative process of my work is with the development of a concept. The evolution, creation, and execution of that concept is an integration of experiences within my cultures. Being an American artist with a Hispanic culture, I deal in my work with personal relationships and events that dominate my environment. The work is a means of recording my feelings about particular times in my life, both personal and historical. The images are metaphors of those feelings, experiences, and events that reflect life in the barrios.
